Today I want to talk about what I have been up to lately.
I found a wonderful person who has agreed to help me improve my Etsy shop from what to list all the way to helping me with photos. I have learned so much over the past few weeks I wanted to share some of what I have learned and am still learning :)
Did you know that how you title your items in your Etsy shop will have a lot to do with how Etsy and search engines such as Google find your items? This is SO IMPORTANT to make sure you are using top keywords. You want to make sure that your keywords are searched for a lot and that there isn't a lot of competition for that keyword. Make sure to use those same keywords in your tags too.
I highly suggest you also make use to think of good keywords when titling your blog posts as well :) this will help Google find your blog, which will get others to find it and find your shop!
The other thing I have learned is that I was unpricing my items big time. I love what I do so price wasn't that important to me, my mentor has pointed out to me how important it really is. That it is much better to sell one or two high priced items, rather than selling multiple low priced items. This has been a hard thing to get through my head but I believe I have finally gotten that done now.
Pictures, this is a must to have good clear quality pictures, this is what will sell your items. It doesn't have to be a pain to do this either. Just having the right set up and the right lighting will make all the difference. I am working on putting together my own lightbox today that will make my pictures much better. One other thing I have learned when it comes to picture taking is to be consistent with your pictures within your shop.
I will write up a new post on how I do with the lightbox I am setting up and give details on how you too can do this and help your picture taking. Remember, our pictures have to sell our items here online. Our customers can't touch or smell our wonderful items so our pictures have to tell our story, as well as our descriptions.
I never really understood why it was so important to have a lot of items in your shop until recently. I have usually always had 30 or so items. With the help of my mentor, I set a goal to have 50 items in my shop by the end of November, well as of today the 16th of November I have 52 items currently listed and 3 more items waiting to go up. So now I am hoping I can get to 75 items by November 30th :) My main goal is to have at least if not more than 100 by the end of the year.
These tips will help, twice now I have sold one of my newly listed items within hours after listing it, just by following some simple tips on keywords (tags), titles and descriptions.
Yes, this does take some extra time to do, but believe me it is well worth the time it takes to get your shop noticed. For the first time I am starting to see my Etsy shop show up on Google and other search engines.
One other tip I would like to offer to others is to watch your shop stats, pay close attention to how folks are finding your shop and items. Write these tags down and make sure you are utilizing all of them within your listings, tags, and titles.
I hope this will help some of you out there that are struggling on how to get your shop noticed. Take the time to do it right the first time and you will see changes in your views, likes, and so much more :)
I invite you to stop by my shop to see some of my wonderful new items I have been adding. And yes, listing at least two or three 'new' items a day will definitely help get your shop noticed.
