New Swarovski Crystals = Change Colors

I love playing around with new crystals and beads to see what is out there.

Well a few weeks ago I was in my local beading shop when the clerk, who knows I am always on the look out for something different and new, mentioned they got some new crystals in. So of course I just had to check them out.

These swarovski crystals change colors when exposed to different types of light :) now how cool is that?

I had to get some, so I got some called 'Cantaloupe' - they are a pretty green in normal lighting but change to a brownish color when exposed to a brighter light.

I made this cute little bird with them.

Swarovski Aniaml SpotLight For the Week

This week I am working on a series of swarovski crystal bird figurines.

To start off this week I have made a family of blue birds, daddy, mommy, and baby.  They are too cute.

All are handmade with swarovski crystals and crystal rounds and illusion cord is used to weave them together. Each little bird takes about half and hour to create.

Their measurements are as follows:

Daddy stands about  7/16 inches high and is about 1 1/4 inches wide

Mommy blue bird figurine stands about 5/6 inches high and is about 13/16 inches wide

And the little baby blue bird figurine comes in at about 7/16 inches high and 1/2 inches wide :)

Miss 2012 Pageant Update for my daughter

Well, it has been almost 2 months since my 15yr daughter participated in the Miss 2012 Teen Pageant.  It was a wonderful experience for both her and myself. She made a lot of new friends and had a wonderful time.

Although she didn't win anything she has learned a great deal about herself and what it takes to do something like this.  She isn't sure she will ever do something like this again.

I got the pictures back on CD that I paid $129 for.  They were suppose to be of her in candid shots throughout the pageant, and of her crossing the stage in each of her outfits, causal wear and formal wear.  Well, to say the least, I am PISSED OFF, this is all I got -

I want to thank those of you for your support and encourging words you all offered to her, she is very happy and had a great time.

I have 2 phone calls into the photography place and have yet to hear from them. So upset I didn't take pictures myself, but was told the reason for purchasing this package was so I could share in the fun and enjoyment without the worry of picture taking.

What To Do With My Swarovski Figurines

I get asked a lot by folks just what can be done with my swarovski crystal figurines?

Well, there are a lot of different things my little animal figurines can be used for.  I have put together a collection of photos to help you see just how cute these guys are and some ideas. Of course, the ideas of what you can use these guys for is endless just use your imagination :)

First up is what a lot of people like to do is set them on the shelf, you can have just one or a whole collection!
